It is exciting to see a Moose in the Adirondack Mountains as they can be difficult to spot. The NYS Dept. of Environmental Conservation estimates that approximately 400 moose live in the Adirondack Mountains. They are reported to be most active at dawn and dusk and more likely to be seen in Autumn which is mating season.
As the sun sets, a Moose is calling across the lake near Lyon Mountain. Perhaps he is calling to his mate or just bidding Farewell to the Mountain as he leaves the area for the evening.

I love being outdoors and seeing the beauty of nature during all seasons. I love color and the great way you feel when colors come together in just the right way. This is the inspiration for my painting and most of my work depicts scenes from nature.
