Happy Mother's Day - Lily of the Valley
The American Lily of the Valley is one of the loveliest spring wildflowers but you may have to search for them in the spring as they like shade and tend to grow beneath taller plants. An irish nickname for these lovely flowers is the "Fairy Ladder," and it is irish folklore that fairies drank from the cups. Over time, the Lily of the Valley came to symbolize the Ladder to Heaven or Ascension Ladder but many still call it the Fairy Ladder.
