It is such a joy to watch mother ducks raise their families. It is not an easy task to safeguard ducklings as they are vulnerable to many predators. In spite of these risks the Mallard mother is tireless in her efforts to safeguard her young, keeping them close at all times and under her watchful eye. She is the symbol of motherly love. Because of her diligence, she manages to successfully raise her ducklings each year.

I love to see them on the lakes and bays in the northeast. This mother Mallard seems to pause to have a word with her young as the three birds traverse the shallows on the south shore of Lake Ontario.

I love being outdoors and seeing the beauty of nature during all seasons. I love color and the great way you feel when colors come together in just the right way. This is the inspiration for my painting and most of my work depicts scenes from nature. I believe in lifelong learning and love the painting process where you never stop learning and discovering new things. I hope you enjoy my paintings!
