Black Bears are found all over North America and are seen frequently in the Northeast. Most are jet black. They prefer wooded areas and are excellent climbers.
While camping years ago, a mother bear came looking for her cub who, unbeknownst to me, happened to have climbed the tree directly behind where I was sitting. Yikes! I left quickly so the mother and cub could be reunited.
My grandson requested a painting of a bear for his room and, of course, it had to be a Black Bear. This painting is for him. It protects him each night from any other creatures that might try to enter.

I love being outdoors and seeing the beauty of nature during all seasons. I love color and the great way you feel when colors come together in just the right way. This is the inspiration for my painting and most of my work depicts scenes from nature. I believe in lifelong learning and love the painting process where you never stop learning and discovering new things. I hope you enjoy my paintings!
