Rowan's Bear Toddler T-Shirt

Black Bears are found all over North America and are seen frequently in the Northeast. Most are jet black. They prefer wooded areas and are excellent climbers.

While we were camping years ago in upstate New York, a mother bear came looking for her cub who, unbeknownst to me, happened to have climbed the tree directly behind where I was sitting. Yikes! I left quickly so the mother and cub could be reunited.

My grandson requested a painting of a bear for his room and, of course, it had to be a Black Bear. This painting is for him. It protects him each night from any other creatures that might try to enter.

Black bears inhabit the extensive forest lands of eastern Canada and northern New York, particularly those within the Adirondack Park and the Catskill Mountains. The Adirondack region is "home" to a healthy population of nearly 4,000 black bears, while the Catskill Mountains have the highest density population of Black Bears in New York State.

I love being outdoors and seeing the beauty of nature during all seasons. I love color and the great way you feel when colors come together in just the right way. This is the inspiration for my painting and most of my work depicts scenes from nature.
