Description

A Goldfinch waits for the Thistle plant to seed so she can gather the seeds to feed her young. It is theorized that the Goldfinch delays nesting until the thistle plant seeds as feeding her young thistle seed discourages Cowbirds from leaving their eggs in her nest. This Goldfinch may have become a bit impatient waiting for the seed...
