The forest in Autumn is a beautiful place. In the Northeast, the leaves are wonderful shades of red, yellow and orange. One Autumn day while walking in the woods, we saw a White-tailed deer ahead. The Doe turned and looked back at us as if to say: Walk With Me?
I felt such an affinity with this deer. We shared the same path and the enjoyment of the day. I thought of all of the things we had in common - as mammals, as females, as travelers and as inhabitants of the Earth. How important it is that we learn to live together peacefully in our journey through life. I am still thankful for this wonderful, spiritual encounter.
I later learned that the Deer is a symbol for spirituality and this experience took on new meaning for me. Perhaps, indeed, this deer was saying, "Walk With Me."
