Artist's Description
During a period of windy weather, Lake Michigan experienced high waves which made it uncomfortable for boat travel. Lake Michigan is one of the Great Lakes and is larger than some seas producing waves as large as those we see on the ocean. So we spent several days in Leland, Michigan on the Eastern shore of the lake. It is a lovely, little town with a lovely beach. The wind kept us there for several days and we found ourselves enjoying daily walks on the beach - the inspiration for this painting.
