Artist's Description

Katahdin means "The Greatest Mountain" and Mount Katahdin is the highest mountain in the state of Maine. Katahdin is the northern terminus of the Appalachian Trail, and is located near a stretch known as the Hundred-Mile Wilderness. In 1967, Mount Katahdin was designated as a National Natural Landmark by the National Park Service. This view of Mount Katahdin in the distance is from the Daicey Pond Trail in Baxter State Park.

About Sarah Irland

Sarah Irland

I love being outdoors and seeing the beauty of nature during all seasons. I love color and the great way you feel when colors come together in just the right way. This is the inspiration for my painting and most of my work depicts scenes from nature. I believe in lifelong learning and love the painting process where you never stop learning and discovering new things. I hope you enjoy my paintings!
