Rainstorms in the Northeast can be intimidating. The wind blows the rain sideways and everything gets wet. The rain pools in new places in such quantity that the earth cannot absorb it quickly. However, when the rain ends, there is a sense of peace – especially when the sun begins to shine. I have heard it said that after the rain, the Sun Smiles. The young Deer in this painting is enjoying the pools of water left by the rain and that period of time when The Sun Smiles.

I love being outdoors and seeing the beauty of nature during all seasons. I love color and the great way you feel when colors come together in just the right way. This is the inspiration for my painting and most of my work depicts scenes from nature. I believe in lifelong learning and love the painting process where you never stop learning and discovering new things. I hope you enjoy my paintings!
