It is said that "the butterfly counts not months but moments, and has time enough" (Rabindranath Tagore). The swallowtail butterfly is one of the most beautiful and is seen often during the summer in the northeast. The forked appearance of the swallowtails' hind wings when it is resting gave rise to the common name swallowtail. In this painting the swallowtail is resting on purple Lupens gathering the nectar. it is not in a hurry as there is time enough...
