Our cherry tree is so lovely in the spring. After being dormant for the winter, the warm sun and lengthening days bring forth blooms that seem to burst with color. Each year, this tree spreads it's beautiful branches wide and seems to be welcoming spring.
I painted this outdoors on a beautiful day. As I finished the painting, I felt someone's eyes on me and was so surprised to see that a small deer was standing behind me watching. The paint was drying on my brushes but I was afraid to move and startle this lovely animal. We looked at each other for several minutes and then the little deer turned and walked away. I have often wondered what she was thinking as she watched me paint.
The tree in this painting is located in Martville, NY but it could be found in any area Welcoming Spring!

I love being outdoors and seeing the beauty of nature during all seasons. I love color and the great way you feel when colors come together in just the right way. This is the inspiration for my painting and most of my work depicts scenes from nature.
